Le Voyage D’Or bears witness to the extraordinary restoration that took place between 2016 and 2020 under the direction of Arch. Guido Pietropoli.  Le Voyage D’Or is one of the possible journeys that tells the story of the place, the restoration and its protagonists.  Gold leaf is the most precious element we find in the Brion Tomb: Carlo Scarpa chose gold leaf as a recurring element, to reproduce the golden elements of St Mark’s Basilica in Venice, but also to recall the natural light reverberations in Japanese temples, which the Master loved. Scarpa was inspired by both Byzantine and Oriental traditions, taking different stimuli from different cultures to create an exclusive masterpiece.
Le Voyage D’Or is the journey in which a Japanese student, after arriving in Venice, decides to discover the territory of Altivole. The protagonist finds the Brion Memorial closed for restoration and, instead of leaving, takes the opportunity to find out more. She thus meets the architect Guido Pietropoli, director of works, but also the craftsmen who worked on the restoration.

For this project, the municipality of Altivole took on the role of producer of the docufilm, in a five-year process that saw a considerable commitment on the part of the municipal administration with a view to documenting this extraordinary intervention. The docufilm was presented in 2021 at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia and was subsequently the protagonist of a promotional tour that touched on places of national importance such as the MAXXI in Rome.
